Overruled -- [Rich]

I would be so grounded if I took my dad to court for grounding me. God forbid I actually won.

O Canada, indeed.

This is so absurd. I was scared of both my parents growing up and they kept me in line. I'm certainly grateful for it now, although at the time I was annoyed to to be able to go there or do that.

Kids need boundaries and limits. I hope this is overturned, because it sets such a dangerous precedence.

My kid had better win the suit.

I'd say "typical Canada" but we just let two octogenarian grandmas tie the knot, so...

"He is stunned by this situation. He feels like he's lost his daughter,"

Well duh. When nothing is outside the purvue of the state it's called "Totalitarianism". Get used to it, unless someone gets off their backsides in the US, that is our future as well.

Some of my relatives live in the tropical paradise known as "southeastern Ohio" which is basically the worst parts of Kentucky and West Virginia mixed into one Heinz 57.

Long story short, parents refused to discipline kids because the kids always threatened to call "children's services" on them and threatened to lie about abuse, etc.

This worked well until my cousin threatened this to my uncle. He made her pack her bags, stand out on the porch while holding the phone. Told her if life was so bad, she could get the hell out. Call them and they can take your ass away.

I still can't help laughing every time I think about it.

Canada, as I keep telling folks, is not part of the real world. Absorb that fact and the rest of it all falls into place.
